Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.
Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
