FC Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
