David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an review of claims about questionable actions towards women.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
