Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community had expressed its support for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
